I was on the Seneca Review website today and began reading their description of “lyric essays,” pieces they favor that cross genre lines, a sort of hybrid. Intuitively this makes sense, but I’d like some hard examples of this type of writing. Can anyone refer me to some? Or any of you nonfiction folks maybe clear up what’s going on here?
A link to Seneca’s attempt at definition (which reads like a loopy lyric essay itself): Check it.
